The "Chianti Classico" wine, produced in the true historical center of the Chianti region, is one of few Italian wines with the highest guaranty of origin, the 'Denominazione di origine controllata e garantita" (D.O.C.G.). It consists of a combination of up to four different vines - Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Trebbiano and Malvasia - originating from vineyards situated in the Commune of Radda in Chianti, which results in the production of a richly perfumed, slightly tannic wine which is suitable for long-term aging. The bottles bear the Black Rooster trademark which guarantees their autenticity abd confirms that the wine has been controlled and approved by the Consorzio di Tutela del Chianti Classico ( Consortium for the Protection of the Chianti Classico). The Chianti Classico wine is recommended for accompaning dishes based on red meat, roasts and game.
